The Online Therapy Clinic – Experts in Adult, Children and Parents Psychotherapists
Specialist group and one-to-one psychological support for organisations following traumatic, distressing or critical events.
The Online Therapy Clinic provides prompt, trauma-informed interventions using G-TEP, R-TEP, ASSYST, EMDR-PRECI(C) and EMDR-IGTP-OTS(C). The approach is selected according to the event, the people affected and the organisation’s needs.
Support is available remotely or In-person for organisations across the UK
Critical incidents can have a significant psychological impact on employees, teams and leaders. People may be directly involved, witness what happened or be affected through their relationship with colleagues and the wider organisation.
A single-incident trauma may follow an identifiable event such as:
A workplace accident or serious injury
The sudden death of a colleague
A robbery, threat or violent incident
A distressing event witnessed by employees
A critical event affecting an entire team
Another unexpected or life-changing experience
The Group Traumatic Episode Protocol, or G-TEP, is an EMDR-based intervention for groups affected by a recent traumatic or critical event.
G-TEP provides a structured group setting while allowing each participant to process their experience individually. Employees are not required to disclose traumatic details or share personal information with the group.
The Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol, or R-TEP, is an individual EMDR-based intervention for people affected by a recent traumatic experience.
It may be offered as a standalone one-to-one intervention or considered when an employee requires further individual support following a group session.
ASSYST may be delivered to individuals or groups experiencing significant distress following an adverse or traumatic event. It provides a structured approach to supporting people affected by recent or ongoing stressful experiences.
EMDR-PRECI(C) may be considered where a person has experienced a recent critical incident or remains exposed to ongoing traumatic stress. It offers an individual format that can be incorporated into a wider organisational response.
EMDR-IGTP-OTS(C) provides an EMDR-based group format for people affected by ongoing traumatic stress or a shared critical experience. It allows participants to work within a group environment while maintaining personal boundaries around what they choose to disclose.
Where further psychological support is appropriate, The Online Therapy Clinic can provide individual therapy tailored to the employee’s needs, preferences and circumstances.
The most appropriate intervention is determined following discussion and assessment rather than automatically assigning one approach to everyone involved.
No two critical incidents affect an organisation in exactly the same way. The Online Therapy Clinic therefore develops each response around the event, the affected employees and the organisation’s operational needs.
The Online Therapy Clinic begins by discussing what has happened, which employees or teams have been affected and what support the organisation is seeking.
The team considers the nature of the event, the type of exposure and whether support is required for individuals, groups, leaders or a combination of these audiences.
The Online Therapy Clinic recommends an appropriate format based on the identified needs. This may include G-TEP, R-TEP, ASSYST, EMDR-PRECI(C), EMDR-IGTP-OTS(C), further one-to-one therapy or a combination of interventions.
Support can be delivered remotely or onsite, subject to the organisation’s needs and the agreed arrangements.
Following the initial intervention, additional one-to-one support may be considered for employees who require a more individualised therapeutic pathway.
This flexible process enables organisations to respond to a critical event without relying on a standardised or one-size-fits-all programme.
